Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors
The purpose of this patch is to encourage girls to put their
creativity to good use, by helping others, in this case, kids who are
in a hospital and need to take their minds off whatever it is they are

Girl Scouts learn to keep their skin safe during the scortching hot
temparatures in the summers of Southern Nevada. They learn about the
sunburns and how sometimes sunburns can cause skin cancer as one gets

This patch encourags Girl Scouts to explore and discover the great
stafe of Nevada. The Nevada State Museum at Springs Preserve
conducts programs to meet these requirements. View here.
International Observe the Moon Night (lnOMN pronounced eye-nom) is a
world-wide celebration of our nearest celestial neighbor, the Moon!
Each year in the fall, millions of people from around the world come
together to view the Moon! Learn about its diverse roles in culture,
history, science, and exploration. View here.
Girl Scouts learn that Las Vegas is more than just bright lights,
casinos, and gambling. Archaeologfcal evidence shows prehistoric
Indian settlements existed in Nevada more than 20,000 years ago.
Basketmakers and Pueblo Indians also flourished there. Cave dwellers

Lake Mead National Recreation Area Patch
Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes
Girl Scouts are inspired and challenged to
find their connection to Southern Nevada's Lake Mead National
Recreation Area. How? By exploring the historical culture, the
historical resources it protects, how the water of Lake Mead NRA is
used in the southwest, and the activities it offers such as hiking,
biking, wildlife watching, and guided interpretive tours. View here.
Girl Scouts learn about the importance of recycling. For example:
they learn that energy saves from one glass bottle can light a
100-wattlightbulb. With the threat of many environmental problems,
recycling ls necessary to help the world survive. This patch will help
