We are thrilled to partner with the City of Las Vegas to offer girls an exciting, hands-on opportunity to explore local government through a full-day immersive experience at City Hall while earning their Democracy Badge! This unique event is designed to give girls an inside look at how their city operates, the many careers available in public service, and the important role civic engagement plays in building strong communities.
Throughout the day, participants will step behind the scenes at Las Vegas City Hall and experience what it's like to work in local government. Girls will have the opportunity to attend a live City Council ceremonial session, where they can observe city leaders in action and learn how important decisions are made for the community. They will also explore and learn about the city's 19 departments that work together every day to keep Las Vegas running smoothly, from public safety and parks to planning, community services, and more.
In addition to the City Hall experience, girls will enjoy guided tours of the Civic Plaza, Municipal Court, and the Zen Room, providing even more insight into the many spaces and services that support the community. Along the way, participants will engage in discussions about leadership, teamwork, public service, and how citizens can make a positive impact in their neighborhoods and city.
This engaging and educational experience is a wonderful opportunity for girls to build confidence, develop a deeper understanding of government and civic responsibility, and discover how they can become active leaders in their communities. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and each participant will receive their Democracy Badge as part of this memorable day of learning and exploration!
Please note that this is NOT a drop-off event. A caregiver must also be registered alongside a girl in order to participate in the event. Parking is available at the City Hall Garage, 500 S Main St, Las Vegas, NV 89101, next to the BabyStacks Cafe, Downtown.
