Are you planning an outdoor adventure or outdoor overnight with your girls later this year?  Beyond the Basics (formerly known as Outdoor Basics) is the training you need!  GSSNV requires Beyond the Basics training be completed for any outside overnights or when conducting outdoor adventure experiences with Girl Scouts.

Please read below and save for location of training and packing list.

This adult overnight is designed to teach basic skills needed to lead a troop outdoors. It will include outdoor cooking, tent camping, outdoor safety and much more. This is a hands-on outdoor experience led by experienced volunteers. Saturday lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast are included, and you will be preparing the meals!

Check-in begins at 9:30am and the course will start promptly at 10am. Participants are expected to stay for the entire course to receive credit. A list of items participants will need to bring is listed below.

All attendees must have taken Troop Trips and Travel (completed prior to 10/01/2025) or Backyard Basics and Troop Field Trips and Travel (after 10/01/2025) prior to attending this training. Those who have not taken this prerequisite class will be removed from the roster.

This session of Beyond the Basics Overnight Training will take place at Frias Frontier.  This is a true outdoor experience and indoor accommodations will not be provided except for bathrooms.
