Nighttime Wildlife Quest: A Family Nocturnal Adventure When the desert sun sets, a whole new world comes to life!
Join Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada and the Nevada Department of Wildlife for an unforgettable evening of exploration, discovery, and family fun on the Historic Railroad Trail in Boulder City. As twilight falls, you'll venture into the desert to uncover the fascinating lives of animals that thrive after dark.
Using your senses as your guide, you'll listen for mysterious sounds, search for signs of wildlife, and learn how desert creatures survive and flourish in the nighttime environment. You may even spot some of Southern Nevada's nocturnal residents in action!
This family-friendly guided hike is perfect for Girl Scouts of all ages and their families. Whether you're a seasoned outdoor explorer or new to hiking, you'll enjoy a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of the desert beneath a canopy of stars.

What to Bring
Trail Information
The Historic Railroad Trail is considered easy and family-friendly. The trail is mostly flat, ADA accessible, and consists of paved and gravel surfaces. Participants will hike approximately 1.3 miles to the first tunnel (2.6 miles round trip).
Please note: This is not a drop-off event. All girls must attend with a parent or guardian.
Space is limited, so register early and join us for an evening of wildlife, wonder, and discovery beneath the stars!
Attendance Policy
Please arrive on time to ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone, we ask that all participants arrive on time. Late arrivals may be missing important; safety and critical information shared at the beginning of the event.
Refunds cannot be issued for no-shows or for participants arriving more than ten (10) minutes late who are asked to leave.
Cancellation Policy: Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada reserves the right to cancel or change any scheduled activities due to lack of enrollment, severe weather, or natural disaster. Cancellation and refund requests must be made in writing, or email ten business (10) days before the event to receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be issued to no shows. No transfers are permitted to be made from one Girl Scout's account to another.
