Family Wildlife Walk: Discover the Sawmill Loop Trail 
 

Gather the family and join the Nevada Department of Wildlife for a morning of discovery on the beautiful Sawmill Loop Trail at Mt. Charleston! This easy 1.3-mile loop offers the perfect setting to explore a peaceful pinyon-juniper forest, learn about the local wildlife, and enjoy some quality time outdoors together.

 

What to Expect:

  • Family-Friendly Fun: Gentle paths and just 160 feet of elevation make this hike great for all ages, from curious kids to nature-loving adults.
  • Wildlife Wonders: Get to know the animals and plants that call this cooler desert mountain home-keep your eyes peeled for birds, critters, and more!

  • Dress in layers-mountain mornings can be chilly.
  • Bring water, a snack, and comfy walking shoes.
  • Restrooms are on-site, but you'll need to pack your own water.

Space is limited to 30 participants, so be sure to sign up early!

To ensure the success and quality of our events, a minimum of 10 participants is required. We must meet this minimum within the registration deadline, which is two weeks prior to the event.

If this minimum is not met by the deadline, we regretfully reserve the right to cancel the event. In such cases, all registered participants will be notified promptly and offered a full refund or the option to transfer their registration to a future event.
