Winter Reading Challenge


Girl Scouts are invited to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge, a fun and rewarding collaboration between the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District and Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada.

During the month of January 2026, girls will challenge themselves to read and log a total of 5 hours of reading. This self-paced challenge encourages girls to build strong reading habits while enjoying books of their choice.

Girls who complete the challenge and submit their reading log will earn a Winter Reading Challenge Patch sponsored by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District.

 

Event Dates:
January 1-31, 2026

 

Who Can Participate:
All Girl Scouts

 

Requirements to Earn the Patch:

  • Read 5 total hours during the month of January

  • Complete the Winter Reading Log (attached)

  • Submit the completed form after January 31, 2026

  • Girls may read any materials of their choice

  • Reading materials may come from any library or reading source

  • This challenge is inspired by the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's Reading Challenge programs and is designed to encourage year-round reading

Patch Information:
Patches will be distributed by the council to girls who successfully complete and submit their reading log.
