Girl Scout Night at Suffs
Featuring Girl Scout Sophia Ramis
Sophia Ramis, a member of Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada, invites all Girl Scouts and their families to attend Suffs, a powerful and inspiring musical in which she is performing as a lead.
Suffs is presented through "The Young Are At The Gates" grant and tells the story of Alice Paul and the suffragists who led the Women's Suffrage Movement. This Tony Award-winning musical by Shaina Taub brings history to life by exploring the passionate, and sometimes conflicting, efforts to win the right to vote.
The production highlights influential figures such as Alice Paul, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Ida B. Wells, and examines themes of political strategy, racism, feminism, and the ongoing struggle for an inclusive movement. Through moments of humor, heartbreak, and determination, Suffs captures the courage and perseverance behind the fight for the 19th Amendment.
Girl Scouts and their families are invited to attend this special performance to support Sophia and celebrate the impact Girl Scouts can have on and off the stage.
