4th Annual STEAM Career Conference
The time has come to meet together once again for our 4th Annual STEAM Career Conference on November 6th!
Now Open to Non Girl Scout Members as well.
Join the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada in conjunction with National STEAM Day (that is celebrated on November 8th). The GSSNV STEAM Career Conference inspires girls in 4th-12th grade to explore and pursue careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
The conference will have 6 different, interactive breakout sessions where the girls will be not only creating, assembling, and discovering, but also learning from leaders in STEAM fields.
Session 1: Build salt powered robot, PRESENTER: Francisco Silva an astronomist and expert in computer science/engineering
Session 2: Circuit piano Activity, PRESENTER: Dr. Erica Marti an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada-UNLV
Session 3: Solar audio kit, PRESENTER: David Rouhani is a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Nevada-UNLV
Session 4: SPACE NEXT, PRESENTER: Snehal Bhakta Career TechEd and STEM administrator from C.C.S.D. (southern Nevada school district)
Session 5: Musical Theater, PRESENTER: Dancers from The Smith Center for the Performing Arts
Session 6: Build Your Bank , PRESENTER: Gina Contreras: Project Analytic Consumer and Business Banking for U.S. Bank and Elizabeth Kagele: Digital Lead Consumer and Business Banking for U.S. Bank
This event is open to girls in 4th – 12th grade who are Girl Scouts. All Girl Scouts are asked to wear their Girl Scout uniform. If you do not have a uniform, please wear your Sunday best. No blue jean or t-shirts.
A boxed lunch and water will be provided. If you choose not to eat the lunch box, please bring your own sack lunch.
Everyone must wear masks and practice proper social distancing at this event.
After the event the participants will receive the annual STEAM conference Patch and takeaways.
This is a girl only event.

- Check-in will begin at 8:00am
- This event is open to any Girl Scout within the United States
