Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada Celebrates 16 Gold Award Girl Scouts

LAS VEGAS (April 23, 2022) – Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada is celebrating its 2022 class of Gold Award Girl Scouts: 16 teenage world-changers who have created lasting impact on issues that are important to them. Gold Award Girl Scouts identify the root cause of a problem, plan and implement innovative solutions that address that problem, and lead a team of people who support their success.

The Gold Award is a Girl Scout’s highest achievement, available to girls in high school who drive sustainable change on issues in their communities and beyond. This year’s Southern Nevada class of Gold Award Girl Scouts invested more than 1,200 hours working on issues related to teen and adult mental and physical health, the local homeless population, environmental advocacy for the Las Vegas Wash, elementary school curriculum and outdoor learning spaces, and support for animal rescues.

This year’s Gold Award Girl Scouts attend schools all across the Las Vegas valley, including Arbor View High School, Clark High School, Durango High School, Northwest Tech, Silverado High School, and the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Six of the Gold Award Girl Scouts attend Bishop Gorman High School, two attend The Meadows School and two attend West Tech.
