Jessica Patterson, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada CFO, named ATHENA® Young Professional Leadership honoree

Recognized at 16th annual Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada Leadership Awards

LAS VEGAS (October 3, 2019) – Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada announced today that Jessica Patterson, CFO, received the ATHENA® Young Professional Leadership Award at the 16th annual ATHENA® International Awards luncheon held at The Stirling Club on September 27, 2019.

Patterson, a Girl Scout alumna, earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Miami University Farmer School of Business. Upon graduation, she began her career in finance as part of the Nielsen Emerging Leaders Program, subsequently moving into larger strategic roles in New York, Chicago, and Singapore. After a brief period at a small digital publisher, Jessica jumped at the opportunity to move into the non-profit space as controller of Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada. Now serving as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Jessica oversees all financial, HR, and merchandising functions, including the world-famous Girl Scout Cookie Program. Jessica is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.

Jessica has elevated the business operations and financial aspects of our Council in numerous ways and she is utmost deserving of this award.”


Other honorees recognized at the luncheon included Souzan El-Eid, MD, FACS, Breast Surgeon with Comprehensive Cancer Centers; Rita Vaswani, SVP-Senior Relationship Manager with Nevada State Bank; and the Honorable Johnnie B. Rawlinson, a US Circuit Court Judge of the Court of Appeals; among others. In 2018, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada was honored with the ATHENA® Non-Profit Organization Award.

The ATHENA® International Awards is the main award fundraising event of the year for The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada.  All net proceeds benefit “at-risk” female high school students with scholarships for higher education and postsecondary education through the chamber’s WCCNV Legacy Foundation 501(c) (3) charity and distributed by The Public Education Foundation.
