Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada and PKWY Tavern to co-host Cookies & Kegs fundraiser

2nd annual event pairs Girl Scout cookies with beer flight and signature Thin Mints-inspired cocktail

LAS VEGAS, NV - Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada (GSSNV) and PKWY Tavern Flamingo will co-host the second annual Cookies & Kegs fundraising event benefitting local Girl Scouts. Organized by GSSNV and hosted by PKWY Tavern Flamingo, this unique fundraising event will feature beer flights paired with classic Girl Scout cookies such as Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Samoas, and Savannah Smiles. The fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, November 27 from 5pm to 9pm at PKWY Tavern Flamingo (9820 West Flamingo).

“We are excited to bring back our popular Cookies & Kegs fundraiser in 2018 and partner with PKWY Tavern Flamingo,” said Linda Bridges, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada Chief Communications Officer. “This event is a fantastic way for the community to learn about Girl Scouts, network with other community members, and sample beloved Girl Scout cookies while sipping on beer and cocktails.”

The event falls on Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving that proceeds Black Friday and Cyber Monday and kickstarts the season of holiday giving. In addition to beer flights, PKWY Tavern Flamingo is creating a signature cocktail based off the much-loved Thin Mints cookie and PKWY Tavern’s full dinner menu will also be available. Raffle drawings will be held throughout the evening. 20% of food and beverage proceeds between 5pm and 9pm will benefit GSSNV’s Outdoor, STEAM, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills programs delivered to more than 3,000 local Girl Scouts.

“At PKWY Tavern, we recognize the power in every Girl Scout,” said Jaimesen Mapes, Marketing Director for FINE Entertainment Management. “Partnering with Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada for the 2nd annual Cookies & Kegs was an easy decision. We’re thrilled to give back to an organization that prepares girls to lead the way in so many critical areas of society.”
