Rock the Dam 2020
Rock the Dam with Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada in a symbolic bridging across Hoover Dam to celebrate Girl Scouting, and National Bridging Week! The festivities are open to registered members of Girl Scouts and their families, along with alumnae and volunteers.
Bridging Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors join your Girl Scout sisters and cross the divide into older girlhood on one of the most famous dams in the world! Celebrate with Girl Scouts from Southern Nevada and other sister councils. Play games, share SWAPS, do crafts, and partake in activities that reflect what lies ahead in the next level of your Girl Scout experience.
SWAPS - "Special Whatchamacallits Affectionally Pinned Somewhere". Girl Scouts often make small tokens of friendship to exchange with the Girl Scouts they meet while traveling.
Additional Information: A special event T-shirt will be available for purchase for $10 online only, and T-shirt sizes are not changeable once entered. Girls should plan on making at least 100 SWAPS each. There will be 2 parking options. The Arizona side of the Dam will have limited free parking that will be first come first serve. The parking garage on the NV side will also have parking for a $10 fee payable in cash at the event. All attendees will receive a fun patch the day of the event. Badge work activities can be applied toward the bridging requirements, please note not all badge requirements will be met. Badges will not be provided.
This event is limited in time as the traffic is stopped across the Hoover Dam for our group to cross using the entire bridge.
Troops must be chaperoned by at least 2 unrelated adults.
Individual girls must be chaperoned by 1 adult.
Adult chaperones are required to register for the event.
Children under 2 are free.
