GS Junior Ranger: Desert Kitchen Pharmacy (JR) - CLOSED
The desert is filled with many different plants and animals that have been around for years. Have you ever wondered how those plants and animals were used in the past? With the help of a Red Rock Park Ranger girls will take a short one mile hike on the Fire Ecology trail where they will learn about a variety of desert plants and animals that have been used as food and medicine. During this program, girls will also complete several pages of the Red Rock Junior Ranger Discovery book where they will learn about the desert environment. After completing those pages, girls will be sworn in as Junior Rangers and make a promise to protect Red Rock Canyon. Girls will earn a fun patch.

Red Rock Canyon charges a $15 entrance fee per vehicle that enters the park. This fee covers all passengers that are inside of a single vehicle. The exact location inside of Red Rock Canyon that this program will be held at will be emailed to participants at a later date. This location may or may not be inside of Red Rock Canyon fee area so please prepare accordingly.
This program is held outside. Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes. Girls will take a one mile hike up a hill that also has rocks along the trail. This hike is easy-moderate for most people.
Adults are required to register, but do not have to pay a registration fee.
Troops must be chaperoned by at least 2 unrelated adults.
Individual girls must be chaperoned by 1 adult.
