Outdoor Basics Overnight Training - FULL
Do your girls want to go camping but you don't know where to start? Want to prepare for the Spring outdoor experiences? This adult overnight is designed to teach all the basic outdoor skills needed to lead a troop outdoors. It will include outdoor cooking, tent camping, outdoor safety and much more. This is a hands-on outdoor experience led by experienced volunteers. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast are included as well as some snacks.
Check-in begins at 10am and the course will start promptly at 11am. Participants are expected to stay the entire time to receive credit for this course. A list of items participants need to bring will be distributed at least 1 week prior to the event.
All attendees must have taken Troop Trip Training or Girls on the Go! (in either webinar or classroom format) prior to attending this training. Those who have not taken this prerequisite class will be removed from the roster.
Please note: This session of Outdoor Basics Overnight Training will take place in Alamo, NV at 95 Hand Me Down Road, Alamo, NV 89001. This is a true camping experience and indoor accommodations will not be provided Please plan accordingly. We ask that volunteers carpool and share tents whenever possible.
Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada reserves the right to change or cancel classes due to lack of participation or extenuating circumstances. This class is for adults only. The class minimum is 5 and the maximum is 20.
