Holidays Around the World - Session 2
Every country and culture celebrates the Christmas holiday in their own unique way. Join your Girl Scout sisters as we venture to Mexico, Israel, and China – all in one day! - as we learn about Christmas traditions from around the world. Experience the beautiful and colorful culture of Mexico through exciting dances, vibrant costumes, and traditional music. The Christmas story will come alive through the legend of the Poinsettia, known in Mexico as the ‘Flores de Noche Buena’ or ‘Flowers of the Holy Night’.
Next, you’ll “travel” to East Asia to learn traditional dances from China, Korea, and Taiwan as we look forward to the Chinese New Year on January 25, 2020 and the Year of the Rat. Girl Scouts will enjoy making festive crafts and dancing with fans, ribbons, bells, and even a dragon!
Our final stop on our holiday tour is Israel! You’ll learn about Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish celebration, and create a beautiful craft that represents peace to everyone.
Troops must be chaperoned by at least 2 unrelated adults.
