Volunteer Recognitions

Service Unit Level Awards and Recognitions

Award nominations due by March 8, 2013.


Outstanding Leader Award

For outstanding troop leadership qualities in the delivery of Girl Scout programs to girls that merits recognition by the service team.


Outstanding Volunteer Award

For outstanding service beyond the expectations of the position that benefits the service unit and warrants area-wide recognition. A registered volunteer who has retained or increased underrepresented adults and girls in areas identified in the Council Performance Assessment. Given to outstanding delivery-of-service adults other than leaders.

Three Year Pin

To recognize three years as an active registered troop volunteer (i.e. troop leader, co-leader, product sales, committee members)

5 and 10 Years

Leadership Development Pin

To recognize adult members registered as troop leaders or co-leaders or group coordinators who have completed a series of earned criteria.

Special Supporters Certificate To honor those individuals or groups who have supported Girl Scouting.

Episodic and Progressive Volunteer Awards



Community Participation

1. One-time or one-day service for council or GSUSA
2. Completed required orientation and training



Citizenship
in Girl Scouting

1. Returns for 2nd or 3rd session of service
2. Provides support through 2 or 3 short-term assignments for the council or GSUSA


Social Responsibility
in Girl Scouting
1. Provides a 4th session of service to the council or GSUSA

Awarded at Council Level


Years of Service Pin

Not a substitute for Membership Numerals; used to honor an active volunteer for her/his service as an adult. Awarded in 5 year intervals.

Membership Numerals
15 years and up

 

To acknowledge years of membership as a Girl Scout (girls and/or adult years combined). Awarded in 5 year intervals.


Outgoing President's
Gavel Pin
To honor Council President upon conclusion of final term of office.

Recognitions Requiring Submission to the Council Adult Recognitions Task Group and approval as designated by the Board of Directors.

Community Appreciation

To honor those individuals or groups outside of Girl Scouting who have supported two or more service units.

Community Benefactor To recognize individuals or organizations whose service benefits the entire council or the entire Girl Scout movement; and has contributed to the council's goals and objectives.

Trainer's Pin

To recognize adults and older girls who have completed the earned criteria for trainers.

Calovini Commitment to Excellence in Training

To recognize Experienced or Master Level trainers who have demonstrated outstanding service to adult development.

Frontier
Silver Award

To recognize outstanding service to the Girl Scout movement for 25 years as an adult Girl Scout with a minimum of 5 years in Girl Scouts of Frontier Council.

President's Award

A service unit or program delivery unit whose performance meets certain standard criteria and service is truly outstanding


Appreciation Award

To recognize outstanding service to at least one service unit.


Distinguished Service Award

To recognize 3 or more years of outstanding service to at least one service unit. Past recipient of the Appreciation Pin.


Honor Pin

To recognize outstanding service to at least two or more service units.


Meritorious Service Award

To recognize 5 or more years of outstanding service to two or more service units. Past recipient of the Honor Pin.

Volunteer of Distinction Award

To recognize outstanding service at any level. The highest Council Award given.


Thanks Badge

To recognize outstanding service that benefits the total council or the entire Girl Scout organization.


Thanks Badge II

To recognize continued outstanding service given by a Thanks Badge recipient.
