Her Story - Alyssa D'Anduono

Eleven year old Alyssa D'Anduono wants to be an engineer when she grows up. She realized this through Girl Scouts Lego Robotics program. Alyssa is part of the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada Lego Robotics team. Lego Robotics is designed to get girls excited about science and technology -- and teach them valuable employment and life skills such as critical thinking and computer programming.
Girl Scout robotics teams compete annually in FIRST Lego League Competitions, where they program their autonomous robot to score points on a thematic playing surface, as well as create an innovative solution to a problem as part of their project. In 2011, Alyssa and her team were awarded the Judge’s Award for Critical Thinking. They received this for their robot earning the most points in the least amount of moves.
