Endowments
An endowment fund is a permanent fund that is invested by the council to generate income from interest. Donations and other additions to the endowment fund are not spent on a regular basis; rather, the principal of the gift is preserved and invested to earn income to support the council in future years.
Betty Shults Gold Award Scholarship Endowment
An endowment fund to provide post-secondary educational scholarships for Girl Scout Gold Award Recipients.
About Mr. & Mrs. Shults
Mr. Eugene A. Shults created the Betty L. Shults Scholarship Endowment in August of 2005 in memory of his late wife Betty, a long time supporter of Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada (formerly Frontier Council). Betty joined Girl Scouts as a volunteer for her daughter Cassandra’s troop. Her 30-year history with the council saw Betty in numerous volunteer positions such as: leader, campership chair, product sales chair, cookie chair, troop committee member, trainer, and Council Board President. Her life long commitment to the girls of Southern Nevada is a true testament to the impact Girl Scouting has on our community.
