Songfest Jamboree

Join Girl Scouts from across the Southwest and the United States for a weekend of traditional campfire songs, badge work, and mountain adventure! Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada will host 500 Girl Scout girls and adults for a weekend of fun, music and song - First Come, First Serve. Girl Scout song-leaders from multiple councils will come together to offer a weekend of song and GS traditions with break out sessions for badge-work and skills. This event will take place at the beautiful Pali Retreat and Conference Center located near Big Bear, CA, September 28-30, 2018. The price of the event is $190 per person and will include lodging in cabins with electricity and indoor bathrooms, 5 meals beginning Friday evening through Sunday breakfast, songfest, campfire, s'mores, break out sessions and badgework. Every participant will receive an event t-shirt and patch, songbook, materials to complete a badge, and the badge itself. Additional optional activities include a high ropes course (2.5 hours for $50) and a zip line ($10/person/zip). Join Girl Scouts from multiple councils, enjoy the mountains, sing to your heart's content, earn a badge, and make new friends with swaps.

Are parents able to attend?

Parents may attend if they are registered Girl Scout members and if they pay the participation fee for the weekend.

Does the fee include a patch or badge?

Yes, there will be an event patch. Each girl will earn a Girl Scout badge.

Who can attend Songfest Jamboree?

- Girl Scout Troops with an indoor overnight trained adult and troop leaders and adults. All troops must follow Girl Scout safety adult to child ratios. All participants must pay registration fee for the weekend.
- Independent Girl Scouts may attend with w/ registered adult so long as both pay the event registration fee.
- Individual registered Girl Scout adults who pay the event fee.

Can my scout’s sibling register for the event?

Only if the sibling is a registered G.S. Brownie or older and who meets the attendance criteria listed above (with a troop or as an independent scout.) All scout groups must meet adult safety ratio guidelines for troops.

Can a non-member attend the event?

No. For insurance purposes all participants must be registered Girl Scouts.

When does registration close?

This event will be open to all Girl Scouts across the United States and is only open to 500 participants. Registration will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will close when the event is full or May 1, 2018. Whichever comes first.

How much does it cost to participate?

$190 covers all lodging in cabins with electricity and indoor plumbing, food, songbook, t-shirt, patch, campfire, s’mores, Girl Scout singing events ,and badge activities. Additional optional activities will be available to pre-purchase, on a first come, first serve basis, upon registration (high ropes, zip lines).

Will food and drinks be provided?

Yes. Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, s’mores during campfire on Saturday night, and Breakfast on Sunday (see menu below for more information!)

When should I arrive?

4pm – 10pm Friday. Dinner service ends at 7:00. No refunds will be made for those who arrive after dinner.

Is this a drop off event?

No, every scout must have registered adult present at all times

What will my scout learn?

Traditional Girl Scout Songs and campfire skills, leadership skills, games, all scouts will also earn a badge.

What is refund policy?

Pre-registration deposits are NOT refundable. There will be no refunds after May 1, 2018. Waitlist will be maintained for possible transfer of registrations. If a fire or natural disaster closes the camp an alternate date will be selected within 365 days. Event is primarily inside and will be held even if weather is poor.

What does the workshop registration fee include?

Lodging Friday – Sunday, 5 meals, patch, t-shirt, songbook, GS Badges and supplies to complete badge work and leader training for adults

Is there a required chaperone to Scout ratio during the workshop?

Safety Wise Adult to Child Ratios are required for all Girl Scouts at all times.

Are we required to bring anything?

All participants will be sleeping in enclosed cabin-style accommodations with electricity and indoor bathrooms. Please bring a sleeping bag or blanket and sheets, pillow, towel, clothes for the weekend including a jacket for cold weather, personal hygiene items, refillable water bottle. Guitars and songbooks are encouraged, but not required.
